Starting at age 4, Stacey has received training from noted New Brunswick artists Ivan & Vivian Hicks as well as classical violinist Margaret Wood. Up until her teens, she competed in fiddling events across the country and captured over 100 noteworthy trophies. Stacey has extended her talent by learning step dancing, piano and guitar. She now teaches her skills to others by instructing 32 fiddlers and step dancing students. She has also taught at summer fiddle camps and has done workshops in Maine.. Stacey enjoys playing many styles including Bluegrass, Celtic, Irish and Old Time. Highlights from Stacey's career include playing with Ivan and Vivian Hicks, Natalie MacMaster, Ashley MacIsaac, Howie MacDonald, Brenda Stubbert, John Allan Cameron, and, of course, as a member of the popular New Brunswick Celtic group Banshee. Stacey's first recording Silver Lake Fiddling was captured when she was only 9. She recording a second, Still Growing only two years later. Her newest release Playing with a Full Deck continues to be regarded as one Atlantic Canada's best fiddle albums. Stacey is currently enrolled in music/business programs at Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA. |
